Cabot Vineyards- Somethings old, somethings new..*extended*

Warm up your credit cards and come on in, as here is where you will find all the BerserkerDay offers - open to EVERYONE who loves wine. Apologize to your spouse or significant other ahead of time. #BD11
Forum rules
Not 'Rules', necessarily, but here's how BerserkerDay goes:

I'll be launching offers in groups of 8-10, in increments of 30 minutes. Sponsors will stay pegged at the top of the forum all day, each new group of offers will come in at the top with them for their launch grouping, cycling into the 'normal' thread after their launch time has passed, with a new launch group posted atop the thread thereafter. Discussion is encouraged, as posting replies moves the thread up to the top of the grouping, whether that is during launch time group or the 'regular' forum.

Keep checking in every 30 minutes for new offers being posted, and keep scrolling down to see everything that has been launched throughout the timeframe in which you've been on the forum, which hopefully is ALL DAY

First time purchased here for the aged Syrah, looking forward to trying something new!
Drew,

You are going to love the Cabot aged Syrah's!.......To my palate, they are very much in a Northern Rhone style, with savory, peppery notes, and not at all fat and large-scaled like some Syrah's can be (but those can be great as well). I bought my first Cabot Syrah's at last year's BD X, and have really enjoyed them, hope you do as well
Thanks, I'm sure I will. Splitting the 6-pack with a friend this time around so I'm sure I'll regret not buying more. You think these are ready to pop immediately or would you sit on them a bit longer?

Drew,

I will let John Cabot give you the definitive answer, but I would say the aged Syrah's (2010/2011)'s are ready to go right now......but there is enough acidity and structure that they can also age a bit

Went in on a newbie Syrah pack to complement my stash of older Syrahs. One day I hope to figure out how to justify getting a whole case with some Pinot mixed in!
Thanks for the order Adam!

My opinion is that the 10 and 11 are hitting their stride and showing great secondary characters. I think theyll stay there for another 5 years before becoming really mature

Drew, based on my experience with these wines, I would say open one of your choosing soon and see what you think. These have a rather graceful age trajectory to them. In other words, I think you can’t go wrong drinking or holding, just depends on your tastes.

Sure Lee. My pleasure!
Just put in this order on the website since the offer was still open and I'm back home now (and an aged syrah pack, too). So no this is all neatly sewed up. Thanks!

Has anyone received their orders from this offer? I still have not, and have not heard any update. Sent an email to the winery which has gotten no response.

The normal cross country shipping window is Mid-March to Mid/Late April. Always good to keep an eye on the forecast. March snowstorms and cold snaps are definitely not unheard of. Lots of producers shipped early this year because of the remarkably mild weather.

John logged in to the BB 3 days ago. I expect he'll respond soon.

Any progress on getting orders out? Florida temps are already hitting 80 degrees every day. My shipping window will be closed by the end of March.

I hope all is well with John and Cabot winery - I got super quick responses to emails in February and understood they were planning to ship at end of February but heard nothing since despite sending a couple of emails in March. I tried to call winery today but mailbox was full. Maybe busy bottling a new vintage or just hunkered down but would be good to get some reassurance if possible. Anyone else heard anything?

Andy, John has a small shop. If you are in a warm-weather state, I get your concern. But if not, John is a stand-up guy/operation.

Im so sorry for the delay. Weve had some issues with our UPS account and our third party shipper. Weve resolved the problem and have begun shipping. Were keeping a close eye on temperatures in the southern states and will ship when we see an opening.

Drew,

You are going to love the Cabot aged Syrah's!.......To my palate, they are very much in a Northern Rhone style, with savory, peppery notes, and not at all fat and large-scaled like some Syrah's can be (but those can be great as well). I bought my first Cabot Syrah's at last year's BD X, and have really enjoyed them, hope you do as well
Thanks for the kind words Paul. Im so happy you like the style. Humboldt County Syrah is truly something special.
John, I’m just seeing this post because I usually just hang on the general wine board. Am I too late to get some of your wines at these prices? I really enjoyed a mixed case from a year or so ago. The Humboldt was great.

Thanks. Tom Wills

Oh im so sorry about that Adam. Im happy to send you a bottle of "The hills".
Same here - I'll recheck, but looks like I got 2 of each Syrah in the "Newbie" pack, and no Hills.
I apologize to those that got 2 Humboldts instead of one and one Hills. Please email me johnjcabot3@gmail.com if yours was mixed up and ill happily send you a bottle of the Hills.
Thanks!

Looks like it's already on the way . . .

This thread is making me thirsty! I'm down to my last 2 Cabots... Reinforcements needed. :)
We're still shipping Patrick! I left the offer up on the web site, to encourage people to stock up.
