What Percentage Of Your Cellar Is European?

72.5% and going up

My cellar is 63.23% from Europe. But I think my drinking is probably 75% new world.

42% US
56% Europe
2% Other

Ugghh France passed Italy must make amends

79% Europe

  • 71% France
  • 8% Italy

21% USA

  • 20% Cali
  • 1% Oregon

Need more Italy!

96.9% European
3.1% American

68%

30.7%.

64.4% Europe
34.4% USA

97% France (45% Bordeaux, 41% Burgundy, 13% N/S Rhone, 1% Loire)
2% Australia/NZ
1% Italy

NZ and Italy will likely go higher and Australia will go down to zero!

Loire will go higher and Bordeaux will come down. Ideally France should be 43% Bordeaux, 43% Burgundy, 8% N Rhone, 3% S Rhone, and 3% Loire.

30.9%

My drinking is probably well over 95% European

55% US
31% France
10% Italy
4% primarily Germany

Europe 42%

USA 48.1%

Australia 9.5%

Asia (Bekaa valley) 1.4%

95.68% of my cellar is european.

I’m in a similar boat. I drink probably 75% new world, in part because they are more accessible and partly because I like old world wines at a more mature stage of development.

90.3%. Though it is worth noting that there are very few recent additions to the domestic corner of the cellar. Average vintage is 1990.

75% USA
12% Germany
6% France
6% Italy

As Chris mentioned, almost all my European wines are hands off for 5+ years, though it doesn’t skew numbers in my case with Rhys, Peay, Bedrock and others also laying down for a while as well.

Perhaps a more telling stat for longer term users of Cellartracker would be wines consumed by region:

53% Euro. Diversity is the spice of life.
