Trying for about 130 this year but I have already bought about 9 bottles that were not on my list. So at this rate I will be at about 238.

It’s funny how I’ve become the exact opposite of this. I was really big on Champagne before falling hard for white Burgundy. Now, I rarely buy the stuff, although I will occasionally splurge on a prestige cuvée.

I was shocked to find 326 last year, after two years of ~ 100. 2012 was actually the first year my consumption exceeded my purchases, but last year was a big step back.

I think lifetime (since 1997) I purchased ~ 7000 bottles, so long-term average is about 400. However, I had a couple of major purges for life events which thinned out the cellar for new buying :slight_smile:

Buy about 350 a year, consume about 300 a year. Progressed from filling up the Vinotheque to filling up the cellar to filling up the off-site bins. Between Berserker Day, a quick trip to Sonoma and several mailers, I’m already well over 100 bottles this year, so I’m guessing the number will be higher for 2015.

I was averaging over 1,000 bottles, but slowed down to maintenance mode once the cellar was overflowing. Last year was the only the second time in 30 years, since I started cellaring wine, that I purchased less than I consumed (ave 350-400)…
