How Many Bottles Of Wine Do You Buy Yearly?

Last five years, I have averaged 370 bottles per year. Trying hard to cut back this year and zero purchases so far this year but too early to really judge. Have major space issues…

Steve, you must spread it out. I probably will buy more than 10 cases of Carlisle and Turley this year. Then there is the rest let’s say 300 this year at a minimum.

between 400 - 600 per year.

269, 259 and 314 last year. My issue is my consumption rate (155, 130 and 128) is much lower. So now I’m looking at six cases in my living room above my 775’ish storage max. Had to go light on Berserker Day as a result.

295 in 2014, between 201 and 250 each year in 2010-2013; 484 in 2009 (when stocking a larger cellar). More troublesome, the average cost/bottle has almost doubled since 2009, from $37/btl to $65/btl.

350-450 a year. Goal is to build a cellar and taste as much as possible. $ per bottle purchased has gone down over the last couple years.

About 150/yr. At my rate of consumption, I’d like to (1) buy fewer bottles, but at a higher average cost/bottle, and (2) buy additional mature bottles, or at least bottles farther along on the aging curve

I checked my Cellartracker… I was shocked to see that my purchases in 2014 were down!

Then I dug a little deeper and realized I haven’t bought less, I just stopped entering my cellar defenders into cellar tracker this year. Oh well!

If I calculated it I would be unhappy !

I’ve bought almost 150 so far this year. I am trying to convince myself to take February and March off…

I have no idea but it’s slightly more than I’m consuming because I have more than 100 bottles left in this fridge and I consumed over 400 last year, so I guess that’s a rough estimate.

seriously wish I didn’t see this thread, I just looked at my purchases by year and I despise you guys, you make me buy new wines all the time!!

228 by the way for 2014. damnit. way too much for my current consumption rate

Looks like between 400 and 500 last year.

Purchases the last 3 years have averaged 640 btl per year…annual consumption is half that…storage is maxed out…it appears an adjustment is in order.

200 - 500 a year purchased, with 200 or so consumed a year. Purchases went up drastically when I realized I never want to feel I’m running low on champagne.

We’re about to increase space for wine considerably. Hoping that doesn’t mean what I’m afraid it will mean…

2015 Bottles purchased (33)
2014 Bottles purchased (129)
2013 Bottles purchased (94)
2012 Bottles purchased (111)
2011 Bottles purchased (150)
2010 Bottles purchased (132)
2009 Bottles purchased (174)
2008 Bottles purchased (184)

I average about 100 per year consumed, and have kept my inventory within a range of 780-830 for about 7 years, due to space constraints. Berserker Day’s activity will tighten things up considerably.

Used to be 350-425 when I was consuming 325 bottles, until I had a child and became 40 years old.
Now between 120-200 about 170 on average. Consuming about 240 Year.
Looking to go down to below 100 in the next couple of years as I reach 50 and still have an abundant cellar.

Last 4 years average Buying 350/yr Consuming 260/year that explains the overflowing wine cellar.

Just over 200 a year for the last 5 years.

350-400+ per year but consumption is on a downward trend so may have to adjust.
