Has There Ever Been A 100 Point Champagne?

A few years ago at a friend’s 30th bday, the '82 Perrier Jouet Fleur de Champagne that I brought was stunning. Completely surprised a number of us, in that we all agreed that PJ isn’t considered to be as long lived as other tete de cuveés.

'85 Krug and '85 Krug CdM, '90 Cristal Rosé were perfect for me on at least one occasion.

Three perfect scores from me of 455 notes on 170 different champagnes.

('88 Krug and '88 Krug CdM both 97 points for me.)

Love that champagne! Haven’t had one in 8 years or so, but my wife and I snagged a few of these for cheap around them and enjoyed the hell out of them.

Fun thread!

1990 Selosse - stood tall next to a 1988 Jayer Cros P.

1988 Krus Mesnil

1979 Krug Collection from mag - the mags compared to the 750s give it the extra bump up

1969 Dom Perignon p2/p3 - I love the on the cork but the later releases just outshine all the bottles of green label I have had.

1966 Dom Perignon Oeno out of mag * I enjoyed this with Richard at the Abbey of Saint Pierre d’Hautvillers, that could have helped it.

1964 Philipponnat Goisses mag

1976 Taittinger CdC

1947 Roederer Rose out of mag.

1983 Agrapart disgorged around 2012 - never see old Agrapart but Pascal opened this up for us when we visited and it was incredible.

2002 Salon - for a young Champagne I don’t think it gets better. Hopefully it goes the distance.

1988 Krug

1998 Krug Ambonnay on release - when this first came out, I was blown away.

Maybe just shy - 1979 Cristal, 1982 Cristal, 1989 Cristal Rose, 2007 Bouchard Boloree

Lots of 1996s or 02s from the usual suspects that could get there in the future.

1988 Krug is one of two wines in my life that are as close to 100 point experiences as I can imagine. Had it in a very intimate, unremarkable situation.
