Yum Cha is a great excuse to open a bottle of wine before midday.

  • 2006 Domaine Bertheau (Pierre et François) Bonnes Mares - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Bonnes Mares Grand Cru (12/14/2013)
    Deliciously pure wine without artifice. It opens up seriously savoury, all iron meat and earth. With air the wine sweetens from the heart and cherry and blueberry fruits come to the fore. There’s a scent of violets to the aroma and some muskiness to the flavour profile. It is only mid-weight but with great balance and proportion and crisp minerally acidity provides posture. Not ready but certainly worth cracking now if you have multiple bottles.

Yes, it is. Young Burgs go well with a lot if these small dishes especially roasted meats.

Love that wine - I think the Bonnes Mares is consistently Bertheau’s best bottling

Thanks for the note Jeremy! 2012 Bertheau Bonnes-Mares will not be produced, as yields were too low to commercialize this wine.
