2003 Romanee St. Vivant - Hudelot Noellat
Medium red with slight onion skin at edge.
Rich nose of black cherry and sandlewood.
Powerful, spicy, black fruited entry led to a very long, firm, black licorice finish.
Balanced acidity and polished ripe tannins.
Primary and a tad on the ripe side but in no way confectionery.
A luscious wine that drinks well now but much more to come in a decade or so.
A Grand Cru for sure…
