Thanks - I emailed them asking for clarification as well … and to cancel if it’s not a 3L. We’ll see but I have always had good service from these guys so I don’t think it will be an issue.
I have had a HUGE number of seeper bottles from WTSO. No more buying wine from them for me. Numerous labels – Frazier, Summerland, Rudd, Two Hands, Flora Springs, Cloud View. There were many others, too. Sometimes the wine seeped past the capsule, but most times it did not. You open the wine and see red stains ALL over the cork. Sure, they reimbursed me EVERY time, but at what point is it just not worth it anymore?
While these wines may drink fine in the short-term, I certainly don’t feel good about laying any bottle down that I bought from WTSO, because you simply have no way of knowing if it was damaged until you remove the cork.
While I had WTSO hold my purchases until cooler weather, it didn’t matter, which leads me to believe that they were damaged either when they were shipped to WTSO’s warehouse, or while in WTSO’s possession, rather than when the wine was shipped from WTSO to me.
Anyone else had a huge number of seepers from WTSO?
none of my 14 purchases (I just checked my history on the site to make sure)…which had to find their way to SoCal via “normal” shipping…has shown a problem, including the Two Hands you mention.
I’ve done 12 total orders from them and never had a problem. I do avoid ordering during the summer since the wines have to come all the way across the country but they will also hold (i think) if you ask them to.
