Tried these two Fri night:
- EdmundsStJohn Shell&Bones PasoRobles WW (14.2%; RozetVnyd; Viog/Roussanne) ThirstyPagans w/ BigIdeas/SuisunCity 2005: Med.dark gold color; strong ripe/pineapple/Rouss/floral/honeysuckle/honeyed light toasty/oak some chalky/mineral/stony rather complex nose; fairly tart very strong honeysuckle/honeyed/Rouss/floral light stony/chalky/earthy rather complex flavor; very long honeysuckle/Rouss slight Viog/floral/pineapple/ripe finish; quite a lovely white Rhone blend that explodes on the palate and is showing some complexity; will go out another 5 yrs I suspect.
- Solminer Linus Rose SantaYnezVlly (72 cs; 13.2%; www.Solminer.com; Syrah) Lompoc 2013: Light rose/pale color; lovely strawberry/cranberry/very spicy/perfumed talc spicy/cardammon/nutmeg/angel food cake very attractive nose; bit soft/lean very cranberry/strawberry/very spicy/Syrah quite spicy/cardammon/nutmeg slight tangy flavor w/ little tannins; long very spicy/cardammon/nutmeg/floral/cranberry/strawberry/angel food cake slight tangy finish; a very lovely very spicy rose that’s a pleasure to drink.
And a wee BloodyPulpit:
- I had the S&B several months ago and it was showing some oxidation and a bit tired on the palate. This btl was absolutely singing.
