I asked my wife the other night what this was, and she said: Burgundy, and if you told me this was $70/btl I wouldn’t be surprised.
Hello license to buy some more!
Locally, at $30/btl - it’s worth every penny. Uber-fragrant with sous bois and red cherry, which repeat on the palate. One of those weightless wines where the flavors float across your palate, yet resonate long after you sip.
Not to derail the original point of this thread (which I thoroughly agree with Peter on), the Pirates make the mis-handled Nationals look good. I can’t believe someone hasn’t viciously beaten Neil Huntington for giving away players for has-been prospects like Charlie Morton and Jeff Karstens.
I know more Penguin and Steeler fans (much to my chagrin, as I root for the Rangers and Bengals) than I care to share, and NONE of them claim the Pirates and have pretty much written off baseball on the whole.
I think Pittsburgh should get a basketball team, I think even they could win a championship before the Pirates find a way to finish over .500.
Hmmm… might have to grab a bottle of this, though I just picked up a case of the 2007 Foillard Morgon Cote de Py. Then again, you never can have enough Bojo.
Michel - you wont regret it - delicious, I’m picking more up tomorrow.
Btw - I had a glass on Day 2 and it became slightly tight, so I would pop and pour rather than decant fwiw. This was wide open the first night we drank it.
That 07 Foillard CdPy seems to be the “it” Bojo of the season. So many sales starting to break that it’s hard to splurge on a case…just ordered a couple of bottles.
Thanks for the TN P. Enjoyed the 06 Thevenet Morgon VV.
It was back to wide open tonight. I didn’t stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night, but I think this will make old bones.
If you’re opening one soon, I’d stick with pop and pour, even if you’re drinking it over a couple days. Beautiful wine, can’t wait to grab some more tomorrow.
