HELL no. Why would I support a company that has intentionally ripped people off? To save a few dollars on a bottle of wine? That seems ridiculous to me.
There certainly could be another way to think about that…
Two part answer.
I would not worry that recent release wines at Acker were fake or poorly stored. However I refuse to shop there anymore as I don’t want to give the business any of my money.
And Ethan -
Send him an email. I’m sure he would love to give you his input.
And my answer to the original question is no.
Never.
If so for many wine buyers, it is time to stop the printing presses.
In some recent searches using W-S, Acker has been at or close to the lowest pricing. And while these aren’t trophy wines that are likely to be counterfeited, I wonder if I should be paying a premium to shop elsewhere. Would you or do you currently shop with Acker ?
I’m amazed if they have the lowest prices at retail. They’re usually very high.
I live near them but don’t take my business there. Kapon’s auction shenanigans were so odious I don’t see a reason to patronize the store.
Would never deal or buy anything from those criminals ever, no matter the circumstances.
I would buy Mylar wine gift bags, sporting authentic-looking DRC and Petrus labels, especially to stash coke bottles.
