Worlds smallest wine label?

This is Orin Swift’s new project called Saldo. Its a Zin blend California appellation. Dave Phinney (yes, I’m a name dropper!) sent me a couple of bottles as some of my fruit is in it. I’m gonna give it a couple of days to settle down before popping.

Of course you ITBers will know that its not legally the front label as it doesn’t have the alcohol, variety etc. That’s on the other side of the bottle. Pretty neat idea.

Bet you the 375 is even smaller [berserker.gif]

I’ve always been a fan of the Ramian Estate label. Nice and simple…

I’ve had the Saldo – it’s tasty. Lots of pepper & spice. I went back and bought 3 more.

Orin Swift also makes the “Mercury Head” which has merely a mercury head coin as its “label” … i’ve always thought that’s a great idea.

That’s indeed pretty small, but as you mentioned it’s not really the label. It’s becoming more and more fashionable in France to have a nice, large front label and then have the official one at the back (but who would know the front from the back on a wine bottle?) and these official labels tend to be smaller and smaller, with the minimum of info required by law. On some champagne bottles they have really tiny stuff at the back.

Is that your gopher grill in the background?

Looks more like the fan on an AC unit to me.

Orin Swift has done a really nice job with all their packaging…they are among the best at it, IMHO, and have reaped success in part for that reason.

What does this wine retail for?

I see it for between $27-$30. We just got some, on a customer request. We tried it and thought it was very good .
