World Series Wines

post ‘em here fans of the Grand Ol’ Game.

Game #1: 2002 Sean Thackrey Aquila Eaglepoint Ranch Sangiovese

Had the Dodgers been playing, I was planning on Cisco Red.

Since they are out (and the owner McCourt is suing his wife for sleeping with her bodyguard: http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/10283982/McCourt-fires-back-at-wife-in-nasty-divorce-battle - LOL), I’ll go for a Windy Oaks Pinot.

2006 Big Table Farm White Hawk Syrah. Had it with Chicken Caccitori! Money!!!

Chateau New Castle

2000 d’Arenberg Shiraz Port.

2005 Karl Lawrence Cabernet Sauvignon

07 Foxglove Chard. Go Phillies!!!

2006 Justin Isoscles.

Tonight… 07 Auteur Sonoma Stage. It’s like liquid crack to me.

2003 JP Boisson Elisabeth Chambellan CndP VV, a bit roasted…not unlike last evening’s Bronx-sters.

Last night -
Williams Selyem RRV 02
Witness Tree Willamette 07
Silkwood PS 04

Tonight -
?

must win game tonight, no foolin’ around:

Mayacamas 1994 Cab Sav

Last night - 2002 Ruston Family Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford

For tonight’s game - 2005 St. Clement Oroppas

Mayacamas it is for the rest of the series!

wow, is this young on the nose and in the mouth. i’d bet this was was 2004 CA Cab! still dense and tannic with big-time mouthfeel and a darker color than almost all of the older Cabs i have tasted recently. lengthy finish with structure thruout. really prominent eucalyptus or mint was easily noticed on the nose and in my mouth. cork was excellent! better than the 1991, 1995 and 1996 vintages, all tasted the past two years.

Game 2:
Montepeloso A Quo 2008. Notes reserved as I do sell this.

Italian wines will continue with each game though.

why Italian for baseball?

I’m a superstitious guy, so I believe that if your team wins, the next time they play, do the exact same thing you did the last time they won. Repeat until they lose.

gotcha! i am staying all-American for the WS. 1999 A.Rafanelli Zin tonight, tastes like Bordeaux though!

I had the '07 & '06 Produttori Nebbiolo Langhe side-by-side while watching Andy Pettitte’s 17th post-season victory last night [welldone.gif]
