What does anyone know about this outfit? I was cold called from these guys and they were trying to sell me a whole gamut of stuff. they could not say where they got my contact info. pretty odd.

Gene = not sure how they got your information but they are a legitimate outfit run by Glenn Siegel (spelling?). They also used to run a winebar/retail establishment in downtown Santa Rosa as well.
Do you know Gence Alton? If so, he works for Wine Spectrum and is a good guy. I’ve had dinner with him at Jack and Joanne Everitt’s place in Santa Rosa. On top of that, I was in a tasting group for a short period with Gence up in Santa Rosa.
Thanks for the info. I know Gence, I think I have been to some tastings with him… They still have the retail establishment. The sales guy was working at some unspecified office separate from the retail location. He was hoping i would blindly buy a random case of stuff. Girard, Shelter, Martinelli…

They call my wife constantly to the point where it is annoying. They claimto have gotten her number from somewhere she ordered me Riedel Oregon pinot glasses from for Christmas a few years ago. I think it may have been IWA. They are always trying to sell her “low production cult wines,” but a lot of the time they won’t tell what these wines are until she says she is interested. She is to the point now where she lets the calls go to voicemail. Never done business with them, and not a big fan of their business model. -mJ
I appreciated finding this thread after recieving both an email and telelephone (both at work) solicitation from them. No specific offer was made, claiming only to want to make an introduction and explain how they can be of service.
I got cold called from them probably 18-24 months ago. The guy who called me is no longer with them but he was actually a decent sales person. He took time to ask about preferences and actually listed, he only called/e-mailed every 2-3 months and then only to offer me something that was within my stated preferences. I did buy once and was happy with the service but the shipping cross country did not make them price competative. Someone else inherited my information after he left and she called once, talked to my voicemail and that has been the end of it.
