Wines with the longest names

I am pretty sure this has the longest name of any wine I have had. I couldn’t pronounce it correctly if my life depended on it.

TN: 1983 Königschaffhausen-Kiechlinsbergen eG Königschaffhauser Vulkanfelsen Ruländer Trockenbeerenauslese

  • 1983 Königschaffhausen-Kiechlinsbergen eG Königschaffhauser Vulkanfelsen Ruländer Trockenbeerenauslese - Germany, Baden (10/31/2025)
Darker in color than all the reds we had tonight. Rich and sweet, but with good supporting acidity. Complex and enjoyable. From Danny's cellar.

As a side note, this has to be the longest name of any wine I have had. ;-)

How about you? What is the longest you have had or can think of?

Just from your thread title, I immediately thought, it has to be one that ends with either “trockenbeerenauslese” or “Encarnacion-Strand.”

Sounds like something that could be settled via a Cellartracker database query by @Eric_LeVine

You beat Louis Jadot Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot Clos de la Chapelle Domaine du Duc de Magenta!

Well I’m sure you know that German pronunciation is very straightforward and doesn’t have all the exceptions of a language like French. So you just pronounce it syllable by syllable. If you have the time!

I don’t know if this is an AI hallucination, but it will be hard to compete with this for a single appellation name. Note that it is normally shortened to something that seems to approximate the British pronunciation of “tomato.”

In my cellar, the winner surely is 2015 Hospices de Nuits Nuits St. Georges Premier Cru Les Didiers Cuvée Jacques Duret Méo-Camuzet

The Welsh have an entry, too. Great QPR on a letter/GBP basis.

Cuiver Reserve Chateau Bottled Nuit San Wogga Wogga

The online transcription of the sketch clearly wasn’t written by a wino. At a minimum, it clearly should be

Nuits St. Wogga Wogga
and
Côtes du Rod Laver

rather than “Nuit San” and “Coq”.

Good times, nonetheless.
