If you’re going to J anyway, a quick trip off Old Redwood Highway down Limerick Lane will take you to Limerick Lane Winery itself. They changed ownership fairly recently and I was really impressed when I tasted there a couple months ago.
+1
I would second Berry’s suggestion of Porter Creek, nice wines. You also have Seghesio right in Healdsburg.
Porter creek was a surprising treat but it is near Atlas Peak - a good drive from where you’ll be. We loved a porter Creek. Their caves were impressive.
If in Geyserville (Ferrari Carrano) you may want to check out Trentadue.
In Dry Creek, we thought Zichichi was a nice surprise.
Bruce, you must be confusing Porter Creek with another winery. Porter Creek is on Westside Road, just south of Williams Selyem and Rochioli. And, I agree, it’s a worthwhile stop.
Are there two Porter Creeks? The one I know is on Westside Road, Russian River.
On the way up from Sonoma, through Santa Rosa on Hwy 12, there is always Chateau St. Jean, which qualifies as a little more “glamorous”.
Sorry, I was talking about Porter Family Vineyards.
