This is what I assume happened for the different vintage. It may also explain the other bottle substitute as there isn’t another vintage of the wine that was replaced.
This happened to me once. I never again bought wines from that winery.

Did you reach out to the winery to see what the issue was? Perhaps it was a mistake on their end? Seems pretty harsh to drop for this reason from my perspective unless they literally blew you off . . .

No and I don’t plan to do so. I am not concerned with the substitute and inquiring has the potential to make a mountain out of something that isn’t even a mole hill. My only question was if this is something that is becoming more frequent, which seems to have been answered,

Actually, the winery included in the delivery a note that they had made the substitution.

As a winery who ships wine, I am sure I have done this. To my knowledge I have done this once and was contacted about it. Since the wine was already shipped at the customers expense, I decided to also send the appropriate bottle at my expense. I would rather lose a few dollars than a loyal customer. Cover your mistakes with a bit of generosity.
I have NEVER shipped a different wine/vintage intentionally. Not aceptable.

I’ve had this happen a few times over the past 40 years or so. Always a mistake on the part of the winery or retailer (hasn’t happened with an auction house so far). Always only one or two bottles out of a case or more.
I always called whether the error was in my favor or not. The seller was always apologetic, and with one exception they sent the right wine without asking me to return the wrong bottles.
The one exception was when Zachys sent me two 375s of a TBA when I’d ordered the BA. They told me they shipped the wrong wine, would stand behind the BA price, and didn’t have any more of it in stock anyway, so enjoy the TBA.

I had a Berserker once ship me a rando 6 pack of assorted wines once when he was meaning to send me a couple of higher end bottles. He sent mine to the family member who was to receive the random bottles
He followed up with a question about if I had ever tested a particular Champagne that he thought he sent me. He said it had been his favorite lately. I said no. I sourced a bottle and got back to him telling him how much I enjoyed it and thanked him for the 6-pack. It was only then that he realized the error.
