Wineries PLEASE!!!

Can you all not release your wine in January?

I might be tempted to buy more domestic wine and actually be on more mailing list but I just had the 1000th winery email saying release is by the end of the month. I certainly won’t have any money for berserker day and at this rate will probably only be buying off of 1 list, Dirty and Rowdy. Isn’t Sandlands coming as well…

I would love to try Halcon wines but here is what I have been alerted to:
Kutch
Dirty and Rowdy
Horse power
no girls
Rhys
Halcon

And this is off the top of my head.

I know this has been covered in various other threads, just needed to vent…

I’m 100 points on this.

They need money so they can buy on Berserkerday.

Myriad and Quivet syrah this month too. I will order some Myriad but will limit it to save money for Beserker Day (mainly OR pinot and EMH) and Sandlands.

Quilceda (passed) was earlier this week…but Turley is later this month and I believe Saxum as well.

Turley too.

My monthly budget, no matter what i do, will be busted. Plus i still wont buy all the wine i want to. Is anybody selling wine in february? Anybody?

Buehler?

How about Schrader on 1/20?

I believe Bressler, Outpost, Sojourn, and Rivers-Marie (the pinots) are all still to come this month, as well.

By the way, Joe, Drinkward Peschon should be sometime in February.

Just the opposite. I wish they all sent their mailers on the exact same day. That way I get everything in front of me at once, and I can easily make my choices for the season. By spreading it out, I’m finding I buy more wine than I really need or should.

It’s easy to solve the timing problem. Figure out your desired annual budget, set up an account or put money in a cookie jar and spend whenever the mailers arrive. But, I think the real problem is that the mailer system encourages us to buy too much wine. There will always be good wines to buy and you can’t buy them all.

And Seaver 2012 on January 20th, too.

add: Ceritas and Anthill early Feb

Carlisle & Saxum soon too.

It’s not us - it’s Mother Nature. In order to get wine to places like FL, TX, AZ, etc we need to get orders in and shipped before it starts to get hot - which can be early March in some places.

So… add us to the list as well [berserker.gif]

At least there is no Bedrock !!

Its -11 in Chicago, hard to comprehend ordering now to beat the heat !!!

Release in feb/mar/apr/may/june/july/aug/sept… boom ship oct/nov… problem solved.

why the rush to ship? no like people drink current releases around here!

Edit: well, except maybe Pobega…

Aubert next week as well

I can think of two main factors for all the January releases

1 - The wineries want your money before it runs out and the budget is maxed on the latest new wines

2 - The wineries just want your money !! cash flow is a major problem for a small winery so im sure this plays into it
