Winemaker question - Has anyone seen Riparia Gloire used for Chardonnay?

Has anyone seen Riparia Gloire (rootstock) used with Chardonnay?
We have really liked the results with Pinot and I am just looking for experience or examples of Riparia paired with Chardonnay.
Thanks in advance.

I don’t believe I’ve ever seen/heard of chard on RG up here in Oregon. Not that I’m very knowledagble. Do you irrigate your pinot on RG?

We don’t irrigate it much now. for the first few years it needed a bit more water, but it seems to need less now.

Yes, Kevin, I have some Old Wente-Hudson on RG in one block, and FPS 66 on RG in another block, but they are not producing any fruit yet, maybe a little experimental fruit in '11, something more like a first crop in '12.

Nick,
We have planted some now as well. Let’s share notesnin a couple of years.

I just planted a few hundred vines of Chardonnay 76 on Riparia Gloire… let you know in a couple of years…

Kevin,

We farmed some Dijon 76 on RG at Domaine Serene (Clos Du Soleil) and it performed really well. I remember it being much smaller in cluster and berry size to the other Chard blocks and very intense (I think this was east slope vs. south slope though). It should do well in the SCM but I would give it plenty of water early (first 2 years) and watch late season shutdown afterwards. RG tends to struggle for many years if stressed early on.
