Pricing on those bottles have been trending up consistently but that $500 hammer was high. It did get me thinking though, the last vintage released was 2012 and thats been in the market for years, the quantities of these bottles are getting very very slim. Anyone know the next vintage of LdH Rosado that will hit the market? I know there is a big gap after the 2012.

Additionally, there are some other bottles hammering a lot higher than expected, and it’s got me wondering if there are people out there with Winebid credits? I recall a while ago that there was some publication you could subscribe to that would give you credits to lastbottle, firstbottle, and winebid. If you had a couple hundred dollars of free money it could explain some obnoxiously high hammer prices. Just a thought

I visited the estate this summer, and they told us that the next rosado will come in 2028. I could not taste it or buy it, that was a bit disappointing, but well, the production is very limited…

Totally agree. I’ve only had 2 problem bottles out of 3 cases bought through WInebid over the years. And in both cases, they were made good.

Does it make anyone else a bit nervous when on WB (or any other auction for that matter) when u see an offering for which 5 bottles or 11 are available?

I mentioned that I’d feel better with multiples above, but based on what I’ve learned over the past couple months about this producer, I’d be a little nervous about these 5

Equally possible it just wasn’t someone’s thing that is was cooked or a bad bottle if that’s what you mean. I was more suspicious when I saw 12 bottles of Kobayashi Miz Cab Franc at UOVO. Like how in gods name did someone get 12 bottles of that.
