Winebid prices softening

Now $225 w/bp!

I hate to admit, but I just looked in Cellartracker to see what Ultramarine I have left

Ouch!!

Same. At $200+ it’s hard not to sell.

German Riesling prices have really gone up on WineBid. I’m sitting on a boat load of 2001s that are 3-5x what I paid on release.

I’ve only noticed 2001 going up significantly. (And certain Schaefer and Donnhoff wines seem to command a premium but not all.) There’s still hype about the 2001 vintage over others. For other vintages I find there is still decent pricing, but I’m more wary of provenance than for Bordeaux. I cherry pick wines that are below retail net or I want at a reasonable pricing to backfill but are impossible to source otherwise.

LOL

It will never be me, but somehow it won’t surprise me if there’s someone out there who’d scoop this up for this ridiculous price.

It’s in line with most retailers who seem to have it. Or even cheaper, so you are probably correct.

The amazing thing, for me, is that I just had this 3 months ago in a very good local restaurant for $130 a bottle. It was good as wife and I enjoyed, but not enough for me to pony up $130 if available at retail.

10 bottles of Ultramarine starting at $170 (withOUT bp) 4 already bid on. Let’s see if this tops the last lot

Rougeard prices. Wow.

prices are softer on resale as the wine is so good eveywhere

Someone wised up to how good aged ESJ is [wow.gif]
