2022 Montrose arrived from WDC, no tariffs.
New York wine importer among 5 small businesses challenging tariffs.
Mine got in last week. Waiting on LCHB* and Beau-Sejour Becot.
*Originally said Canon.
still waiting for Montrose, LCHB, canon and BSB
I am waiting on all my 2022 WDC EP still. Including Montrose, LCHB, Leoville Barton, and others. Not sure how they send it out but hopefully I’ll see them soon. The website still shows expected delivery after November.
Have 25 bottles of 22’ still pending. Ugh
I have zero notification from WDC regarding '22s, including Montrose. Still shows as November expected delivery.
They all show November until they change to “ready to ship.” Some of mine have arrived, some still show November.
Same here. 2022 Montrose still showing November. Same with LCHB.
Interesting story about how tariffs are affecting the cost of bottles, corks, barrels, and other equipment needed by wineries.
One other thing that is related to, but not quite the same as what’s been posted earlier: It’s 500% harder to find new distribution now because of the uncertain nature and disruption of the tariffs. We upped production a few years ago, and those wines are now in bottle, so are looking to expand to a few new markets—but distributors are understandably wary of committing capital to anything new at the moment.
Last time I checked, there’s a three-year statute of limitations for tax fraud in the US if you filed a return. (If you don’t file a return, the statute never starts to run.)
3-6 years criminally. No statuTe* of limitations for the IRS to impose civil penalties.
At this point is there a tariff on wine coming into the USA from France ?
10% - the blanket tariff.
I sent an email to Standish about the tariffs today since they have an upcoming offer asking them how they are handling the tariff. Should see that offer first week of May.
I recall you said a couple of weeks ago that there was a goods in transit exception to the then 20% (or was it 25% or 200%) tariffs. Is there still the exception for the current blanket tariff? I’m guessing there is as I’ve heard from some retailers that my orders they expect to receive in mid-May will be tariff-free.
Goods in transit means actually on the water or in the air. If they got them shipped prior to April 5 then you are clear.
I’d argue there may be no recovery for small producers and vineyards.
