Hello out there,
Any stores close to Derby/Nottingham with a decent French selection?
Cheers

Del,
My mother lives there and I grew up there. Can’t think of any good shops though! Your best bet would be to post on the UK wine pages site run by Tom Cannavan as if there are any folks on there will point you in the right direction.
What takes you that way?
Dan
Thanks Dan,
Going To visit RR as I consult for an aircraft company in Seattle, I’m an ExPat from down South.
As of my last visit, I’ll stop by at Milton Keynes, I found 6b of 2004 Lagrange there for 14 quid apiece 2 years ago and took them all.
Nowhere near a great bottle but at 1/2 price clear out couldn’t go wrong with that price/producer…hope I’m as fortunate this weekend on the drive by…
Cheers

Assume you’re flying into heathrow and driving? There’s a 25 mile stretch of contraflow from before MK up to Northampton on the M1 that is truly horrible unless done in the middle of the night. I’ve been driving up to Derby a lot recently as my father passed away and I’ve been avoiding the M1 at all costs. I take M40 to J10, then the A43 dual carriageway past silverstone and rejoin M1 at J15A. About 30 miles further (although not if you’re going straight from heathrow) but a much, much nicer drive and works out at about the same time overall.
Ouch, thanks for that, I was actually going to come off at J13 to visit my parents in Bedford, then rejoin the M1 at say Northampton.
So you think that at 2pm Sunday it would be rough going from LHR to J13?
If so I might do A1 North and see some Buds in Hertfordshire.

Del,
According to the Highways Agency website, the roadworks are from J10-13…! Going through them on a sunday afternoon would not be pleasant.
