Wine shop recommendations in the Long Beach, CA area?

Can anyone recommend a store in or around Long Beach that might have an interesting selection of CA wines, something not too far off the 405? My wife and I will be in the area over the weekend, attending a family wedding, and we’d like to bring something as a gift to our wine-loving friends who are putting us up for one night. Bevmo seems sort of generic based on the website. We won’t have a car and will be relying on another person to get us from place to place, so I’d like to keep it pretty close by (I used to live in southern CA and am well aware of Winex and other Orange County stores).

I may have spoke too soon. Actually, the Syrah selection at Bevmo looked kinda generic. They seem to have a few interesting zins.

I was just there two weeks ago and didnt really see anything in the downtown area.
