It’s been a while since I’ve had wine with this dish. Note that this is not the masala version. I’m a bit tired of rieslings - any other suggestions out there ??
thanks

Grower Bubbles.
Rose or Rose bubbles, maybe a Pinot Gris?
Rosato Prosecco, Kriek Lambic Ale, Lambrusco, Dry-ish Moscato or Malvasia, Aperol Spritzers…
Gewurztraminer
Great suggestions. If I had an Alsatian Gewurz or Pinot Gris in the basement I’d probably go with that. I’m thinking I’ll try a bottle of NV Lanson Brut Rose.
Would a decent Sancerre be overpowered by this dish ??
Cru Beaujolais. Seriously. Very surprisingly good with Indian food.
A twist in the plot. My wife now informs me that she is making chicken tikka masala. Still the rose champagne ?? I do have a variety of rieslings, cote du rhone, etc.
I still might try a sparkling rose or even a youngish Cotes du Rhone.
If not Pinot Blanc or Pinot Gris would be fun too.
The Lanson NV Brut Rose turned out to be a decent match with the chicken tikka masala. Not fantastic, but good. This recipe was not overly spicy, which helped out. If the heat was kicked up a bit the champagne would have been overwhelmed.
Cru Beaujolais, Pinot Gris and Gewurtztraminer also would have paired nicely.
