In a few episodes of “Succession” the oldest son, the character Connor Roy, is drinking very expensive Burgundy, once after “hyper decanting” it in an electric blender at high speed. As a wealthy family dynasty, wine is part of the Roy family celebrations and feasts, but the producers have kept product placement out of the picture.
In the Sopranos season 6 episode “the ride” Tony and Chrissy make off with about 10 cases of 1986 Pichon Lalande! They stole it from a local biker gang in PA known as “The Vipers” while they were robbing a store. Chris ended up selling his share of 5 cases for $300!
Sounds about right….
We’ve been watching all the Northern Exposures and today in Season 5 episode 2, Maurice and Ed are out to dinner and I see that Maurice is drinking 1985 Martha’s Vineyard! Cool that you can tell the exact year even though it’s not possible to read the label details in the shot.
If you enjoy hate watching vapid reality TV, especially the real estate drama genre: I’ve been watching Selling Sunset LA and have seen no less than 5 “glass cellars”.
One was even at a home with their own vineyard and wine!
Presumably the yellow label? One step up from “Champere”. (Other Veuve cuvées are good as we know)
Actually haven’t seen any! Veuve didn’t pay up.
That vintage label looks wrong, I’m calling “fake” on that ;)!!

I also enjoy Below Deck and on one season, I forget which one, some guests brought wine from their cellar. The only one I could identify was Leoville Barton from a sliver of visible label.
Lately my partner and I have been watching a lot of older Real Housewives seasons. Orange County features Grgich prominently in one episode. Predictably there’s a lot of visible Veuve and Opus One as well. I spotted a bottle of Ducru Beaucaillou in one of the New Jersey cast members’ wine fridges, and a bottle of Petrus on someone’s kitchen counter also.
Mouton Rothschild is a Claret.
And the Oscar for largest wine pour goes to …. The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window
Sooo…are you saying there’s something wrong with glass cellars??
If it’s 4’x12’, South facing, with glass on all sides…
…then yes.
In another episode, Maggie brings an OWC of Leroy out of her plane for Maurice.
Clos du Val has been on two and a half men a few times.
I’m pretty sure there was a bottle of Ravenau on the dinner table in episode 4 or 5 of the Perfect Couple now on Netflix. They kept referring to the Chablis- bottle was somewhat obscured. It would fit given the characters.
