Wine Hunter Napa--- 2004 Ruston La Maestra NV -$24.99

50% OFF 2004 RUSTON FAMILY LA MAESTRA NAPA VALLEY
Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better…

Back in late April we offered John Ruston’s ‘basic’ Napa Cabernet Sauvignon at the special closeout of $19.99. It obviously struck a chord with many of you as it quickly became our best selling wine and our most successful email campaign of the year. Unfortunately, that wine is all sold out. On the heels of that offer, John has offered us another deal that we believe is even more exciting.

This time, we’re getting a wine from the library. It’s a 50% off closeout on his flagship Bordeaux-style red called La Maestra. The pedigree of the wine is first rate, with fruit sourced from St. Helena, Rutherford and the Stagecoach Vineyard and crafted by winemakers Pam Starr, Philippe Melka and Joshua Krupp. From the highly touted 2004 vintage which produced some stunning Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine has an extra year of bottle age and is drinking beautifully now.

Back in the day, we had no problem selling this wine at $50. But at this special discount price, it may be the ‘Deal of the Year’ from Napa Valley. The wine is now in stock, but at this price…it won’t last long. Enjoy!

90 points Robert Parker: “The dark ruby/purple-tinged 2004 La Maestra is a blend of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec. A tight but promising nose of damp earth, forest floor, plums, black currants, and cherries is followed by a wine with a St.-Emilion-like style. Good earthiness, a distinctive structure, and plenty of spice suggest it will benefit from another 1-2 years of bottle age. Drink it over the following 10-15 years.”
