1947 S.A. Huet Le Haut-Lieu Vouvray 499.00

I was lucky enough to have this wine about 8 years ago at a staff Xmas dinner. Astounding experience. Epiphany stuff. I am off to figure out to order some and keep my marriage intact at the same time.

Sounds like a good price… ever buy from them?

Not yet. I have friends who have and I’m not aware of any complaints on their end.

No matter how good it is, that’s a 30 Rock dealbreaker at my house. I’m trying to cozy the lady up to Grosses Gewachs riesling. $500 Vourvray? I don’t have near the guts for that.

One of my biggest ever wine regrets. In 97 we were eating at a restaurant just outside Vouvray and
they had the 47 Huet on the wine list for $100-and I passed. Will never forget it.

Is this the mollieux?
Is s.a. Huet the same as g. Huet
is this lhl or 1er trie lhl (sp?)

is this the same wine John gilman gave 100 points to?

It’s kindah moot now as a search on the site shows it’s no longer there.

It was a great price for a stellar wine. It was probably the Moelleux, which is one of the best wines I’ve ever tasted. Gilman gave a bottle I brought to a Huet tasting a 98. He gave a 100 to the 1ere Trie from '47, which is a recent release. I haven’t had that one yet, much to my chagrin.

Looks like they have a '59 Demi-Sec there for $349.99, though. Terrific wine.
