The 05 Estate was selling locally for ~$25 if I remember correctly. Is that a real discount?
Not so much a matter of it being a great deal, but just being able to find it. Toss in the praise for the 2005s and it makes it quite elusive. I think the guys at Vinocruz noted they they are one of only a couple of shops that will have it.
JR - have you tried the '06s yet? I’ve only had the Swan. It was just pointed out to me that Vino100 in Los Altos will be pouring the regular bottle tonight (along with 4 other SCM wines, 6-9pm) and have it in stock (but not the Swan) for $27.
Vino Locale (Palo Alto) has carried them in the past.

Great wine.
Tasted the '06 Estate tonight. The nose has the character and complexity you’d expect, but the palate is still a bit primary. Enjoyable, but could use at least a year.
Had the '06 Swan back in May. That was really packing. At least as good as the '05 Estate.
