I have not heard anyone buying from the Wine Club in like 3 years.

Not sure what you mean. Are we talking about the same “The Wine Club” with retail locations in Santa Ana, Santa Clara and SF? Are you saying that they are going downhill?

I just never hear about them anymore.

They used to have good deals. Never see any anymore. Maybe just me.

I, too, used to hear a lot about ‘The Wine Club’ but not lately.

There is no question that I buy less from them than I used to, but I have not noticed any change in their operations. My big problem with them is that they are way behind K&L in technology, with no price advantage. So if I can buy the same wine from TWC or KL, KL always gets my business. TWC has room for improvement, but I have never had a problem with the wines that I order through them.

I think there are a LOT of retailers you don’t hear much about anymore - WineX, WHWC, Wine Club - that continue to operate and do a good job. Good to hear they still have ‘deals’ . . . my guess those local to them have continued to support them, and those looking for ‘the deal’ may not frequent them as much . . .

Just for the record, I hear lots about Winex and WHWC. Two very good operators.

By your statement, are you therefore implying that Wine Club is NOT a good operator?!?!?!?

I know that there were some problems at least 12 months ago, when there was an ownership change, but I have not heard anything negative about the operation since . . . Have you?!?!?

Sorry, Larry, no implication at all. I am just saying I hear good things on those fronts. I hear nothing, positive or negative, on TWC these days.

Besides, who would buy 2006 Rhones? It’s not the greatest vintage ever anywhere.
