so I’m gonna go to a “Art and Wine Tour” tomorrow night, where many downtown merchants will be exhibiting art and hosting local wineries…I’m interested in trying some of the wines, and am fairly certain that they will be served in plastic cups…so the question is, how awkward would it be if I brought my own stemware? Nothing fancy, just a decent wine glass
Go for it. Being that local wineries will be there, I’m sure they’ll appreciate you bringing your own glass to get a better sense of their wines. I doubt anyone would look at you funny for brining a glass; instead, I would think more people would ask, “Where’d you get the glass?”
We have the ArtWalk here in Laguna, similar setup, except no local wineries are featured, just 2 Buck Chuck mainly, so you don’t mind the plastic cups with that. IMHO
WIMP
I guess I forgot to post a serious answer. I would bring a glass. As with everything else, I rarely give a shit what others think. If its important for you that the wine tastes its best (and it would be for me) do whatever you have to so that it is.
The tyranny of conformity. Just the fact that you titled the thread as you did means you have been intimidated by those that might attack you for the simple act of caring about the way you taste the wines being offered. Fear not. There’s too much fear being mongered in America today already.
