Wine for Haiti

Yes, I write for Palate Press, but I don’t think this is shilling. Unless you consider it wrong to shill for people dying in Haiti. And seriously, with the California Cab lovers on this board, this is worth checking out.

Palate Press and Brother, Can You Spare a Bottle? have convinced a wide range of producers to donate bottles to an online wine auction. It’s called Wine for Haiti.

Here are some early examples:

6.0L 2005 Rodney Strong Rockaway Cabernet Sauvignon
6.0L etched bottle 2003 Cornerstone Cellars Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
3.0L 2004 Shafer Hillside Select
Complete vertical collection of Twisted Oak “The Spaniard”
Plenty of individual bottles from cellars

Anyway, bid it up if you can and are inclined to help. The organizers are immediately getting this money to organizations that have people on the ground right now.

Cheers.

Thanks for the link Evan. How will this work for individual donors? Where would bottles be sent?
