Interesting that WE is introducing us all to a place they say we’ve probably never heard of
Wine Spectator also published an article on Pritchard Hill around the same time.
So did the now-defunct Sommelier Journal. Disclaimer: I wrote this article.
The WE had several factual errors, for what it’s worth…
WE and factual errors go hand in hand.
I give that 98 points
Good job
Heimoff is a good writer but there are times when he seems out of touch with things right under his nose. I recall he wasn’t versed in the idea of what orange wines were and that really surprised me. All of that aside, I keep waiting for WE to change their logo from the elderly white guy with thinning hair. It just seems out of step in the 21st century. Also his recent ‘golden age’ blog made me think that he just recently refuted the whole concept of ‘golden age’. Anyone else (Kyle) notice this?
He’s all over the place on the frequent “golden age” posts he writes every month or two. Anyone that’s read my posts or comments on Steve’s site knows my thoughts on the subject.
The orange wine thing shocked me, but not as much as getting winery/vineyard names wrong as in the PH article.
