Wine by the glass in California tasting rooms?

I wasn’t aware of this but apparently there is a new law in California this year allowing sale of wine by the glass in tasting rooms. It seems to be helping sales in some Santa Barbara County tasting rooms.

Anyone out there in wineries want to share your thoughts on this? Is everyone implementing by glass sales? Success thus far?

hmmm … that strikes me as odd. isn’t the wine one gets during the tasting enough? or, is this meant to act as a substitute, of sorts, for the tasting?
