WINE BERSERKERS - DALLAS - FRIDAY NIGHT IS FISH NIGHT… - Citrus Bistro, Dallas, TX (4/24/2009)

A few Berserkers seeking a little lighter fare before the never ending beef festival on Saturday night decided to gather together for a quiet evening at Citrus Bistro for some good seafood and to share a few bottles. In attendance were Jeff, Jordon, my wife Cynthia and myself with a quick fly by from Frank.

Opened and served immediately. Yellow color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of creme, nutmeg, parrafin and a mix of yellow fruits. Flavors of pears, apples, creme and a bit of orange on the lingering palate. Medium acidity, medium to full body. Drink over the shorter to maybe medium term. My last bottle. (92 pts.)

Opened and served immediately. Yellow color in the glass, cloudy throughout. Nose of pears, nutmeg, spices and a dash of florals. Rich flavors of pears, nutmeg and baked yellow apples. Medium acidity, full bodied. Drink or hold. (93 pts.)

Opened and served immediately. Garnet to dark garnet color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Soft nose of black berries over a frame of florals. Flavors of black berries up front with some added notes of cherries. Medium acidity, tannins and body. Drink or hold. Drinking nicely right now. (92 pts.)

Opened and served immediately. Garnet to dark garnet color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of berries and cherries dominate with a little thistle, mixed florals and white pepper thrown into the mix. Flavors of berries and cherries. Medium acidity, tannins and body. Drink or hold.
