Amador seems to be socked in with smoke, I have to imagine smoke taint will be an issue like 08 Anderson valley
Not good. We saw the smoke today when we were driving.
I cant smell any smoke here in Fair Oaks so far.
I read this is a canyon away from La Clarine Farm.
Hope they get it contained soon. We go up every March for the special barrel tasting event “Behind the Cellar Door,” and really love the area.
Cheers!

Four of my vineyard sources are in the “heavy” smoke region. I talked to one grower near Coloma this morning and he said the smoke was not too bad at that point down where that particular vineyard is.
A bit stressed…
Just talked to another grower and they said no smoke right now but winds are coming from that direction and they expect some later.
The Sacramento be reported the fire came within 200 yards of Story Winery before the winds changed and shifted the fire in a different direction.

Stopped in for a quick visit with Chris Pittenger at Skinner this afternoon and there was almost no smoke still visible in the area although we saw a little smoke (and maybe some very limited flames) to the west from the top of their vineyard. But from the looks of it, seems like the fire is thankfully well under control now.
