We added a plugin to show who’s online. It’s a row of icons above the list of topics or threads. Hover over it to expand, and you can click avatars like you can elsewhere. No promises it will stay permanently. Also unclear how well it will work with even more people online.
It also puts a green dot (flair) on a user avatar if they are logged in.
I’m gonna try not to be that guy who says this is kind of distracting. That list used to be at the very bottom of the page, is that an option?
no. but we just changed it to only show a count. seemed like too many avatars to be useful.
ugh but that turned off the “green dot” on each avatar.
found a way to keep green dots but it means we can’t even have a count at the top
On the old site, there was an option when logging in to hide online status. Is that possible here?
There is, but I’ve disabled it because it also prevents people from being sent private messages
Thought I’d tag this on here. Is there a reason why the dot that used to tell us if people were active on the site went away?
Merged to the correct thread.
We tried it for a while, not sure why it was turned off but I do remember doing it. I believe because it adds a line at the top of the thread/forum that shows everyone that is online, and that’s sort of annoying.
I can switch it on anytime.
I liked it…I felt like I could pm somebody direct when something maybe didn’t come across quite right ect ect
Or just bullshit …
“This feature not available in mobile mode”
And there I was thinking The Who had made a plugin of their songs. Sigh.
