Whole prime strip loin need suggestions for cutting?

I’ll be grilling this for 12 guys at dinner tonight and I’m debating if I want to grill 12 strips or maybe only 6 larger ones giving each diner half a steak.

Basic info on the strip:
18 inches long
12 pounds

I would personally do 6 X 3 inch steaks. Larger cuts allow for better, and more accurate temp control for desired doneness. Just my $.25 worth.

If you can support the grill space I would do 12 steaks. They would be thinner and much easier to cook/handle. 6 steaks would take up less room but a 3" steak can be difficult to grill if you have not done it before.

Although I personally would prefer a 3" steak it might be easier to cook 12 at 1.5" as it wont take as long.

Have you considered grilling the whole strip as a single roast and cutting big slabs 'o meat for your guests? A great presentation, but the disadvantage is a single “doneness”
