Ever since I had the pleasure of visiting a couple of Northern Rhône producers (thanks Greg and Dan!) I have been wanting to try some different Syrahs to try and get a better understanding of the grape.
Then, recently, at a dinner, we had a couple of new world Syrahs where the 2010 Gravas from the Maipo Valley somehow stood out. My memory of it is blurred, though, as it was one of many bottles that night but nonetheless I found and bought a case today at ~ $45 per.
Does anyone have any experience with this? Where does it fit in on the “Syrah barometer”?
