Which Washington wine are you drinking?

I remember drinking the Artz vineyard from JB. It was excellent and I have been a fan ever since.

I was only going to order reds, but took a flyer on two of the Marsanne-Roussanne and one of the skin contact Marsanne (so much for my boundaries). I’m happy to see your note. Marybeth hasn’t loved northern rhone whites in the past. Hopefully, we’ll both like these. The Kobayashi sans soufre Syrah blew me away.

With your gustatory exploits this will find a home in your house.

Learned last week that JB made/is making an Artz again this harvest. Unknown yet whether it will be a vineyard designate or blended into Yak Valley Cab.

Can’t wait to try the 22. I pinged Travis and told him I was drinking a 21 (and that it was fantastic!) and his response was “wait until you try the 22!!!”

I haven’t had much recently, but I am seriously considering opening a Cayuse Walla Walla Special or a Bionic Frog with roast beef for Thanksgiving. I’m definitely going to go with the 2009 Saxum Magnum but if we have enough people, I will also open a Cayuse

Bone Rock v. Bionic Frog would be a cool comp.

In a fantastic place right now

I also “missed” mine on Friday (UPS decided my business was going to close that day), just picked up my case and your note is making me want to toss one in the fridge for this evening.

I pulled a Cairdeas Boushey Marsanne the other day to pair with Orange Duck and fried rice. Excellent pairing, and makes more curious to open a Kobayashi. I tried an early Viognier of Travis’ 7-8 years ago, and signed up for Kobayashi due to peer pressure on the forums. Yes, it’s all your fault. Nice hoodie though, that my wife loves, and hopefully we will enjoy the wines.

Do it.

Drank a '21 Kobayashi Syrah last night that was excellent (noticed the winery label in the background).

I noticed the Saxum Bone Rock

Was always my favorite Saxum (especially at $45).

I just received my shipment and am thinking of opening one soon. Did this need air or good to go?

I decanted for two hours and drank with dinner. So well-balanced for such a youngster.

As a general rule I let the wine sit for 30 days to settle after shipping.

Patience is a virtue I sometimes lack…especially when it comes to wine
