I either use a white wine glass or a “grand cru” champagne flute which might be at least twice as wide as the standard flute. It has a slight bowl and the glass narrows to the lip.
My parents keep trying to get me to take their coupe’s
Dan, I use the Lehmann mouth blown Prestige Grand Champagne 45. Love them, but they are very fragile.
When I said Natty I really just meant a natural wine. Feral or mousey is the term I tend to use if it’s unclean.
Thanks - another expensive, fragile champagne glass isn’t really what I need… !
When were your bottles disgorged? There were problems with this wine for years. Supposedly they cleaned it up a few years ago. I haven’t had one since, so I don’t know if they were successful, but I know there were efforts.
2021 & 2022.
It sounds like they did not eliminate the problem. Too bad.
Which is why I have and use the machine made version of this glass. My wife and I love them and use them for most of our white wines as well!
In the cheap seats tonight, a grower champagne from Lacroix-Triaulaire that I don’t really care for (and unlike Astrid I’m happy to grouch). Having said that, it’s not a bad wine, and I can see that some people who prefer an assertive tart sort of drink might like it.

NV Lacroix-Triaulaire & Fils Champagne Le Biographe Brut - France, Champagne (24/10/2023)
77/11/10/2 PN/PM/C/PB from 8 vintages. Aged for 3.5 years en caves. Dosage 7g/l. Disgorgment date not specified (L182101 in case that helps anyone).
The label describes this as the "signature champagne of our house style".
The nose has a slight creamy/brioche note with a sharp edge to it. On the palate there is a little of that creamy note initially, but then a crescendo of tart apples, with perhaps hints of tart red berries also, which turns just a touch bitter towards the finish. This is not a subtle champagne. And for me, despite the 7g dosage I find it rather too acidic and not very more-ish.
Overall this isn't a bad wine, but it's not to my taste, and it isn't a repeat buy, even at the ~US$34 that I paid. (85 points)

Dan,
I have 3 versions of the Lehmann Jamesse glasses. The one on the right is a mechanically blown 45cl that I got from Amazon. They are pretty solid, heavy in the hand and tough to break. The one on the left is the mouth blown 45cl that I bought from the place in Canada that Mark shared with the group. These are nice in the hand but they are fragile. The one in the center is a 60cl mouth blown Veuve branded version that may or may not be an actual Lehmann but sure seems like one. I prefer the 60cl for Champagnes that are drinking in the zone, not too young or too old or oxidative. I use the 45cl for older and oxidative champagnes and I use a Glasvin Prestige for younger champagnes and most rosé.
Jon,
Much appreciated. Do you notice any difference in champagnes when drunk in the 45cl hand blown vs machine made or is it just a weight thing?
Dan
Not sure that this is of any use to Dan, but the 45cl mouth blown and 41cl machine made glasses are available from K&L by the six-pack for very fair prices.

I did a taste test once and I felt as if the hand blown was better, but that just could have been my brain trying to convince myself it was worth the additional cost. The mouth blown is heavy for its size so if you are a fan of lighter glasses then that might sway you one or the other.
At this point, I’m just a fan of glasses that can go in the dishwasher and don’t break at the merest glance across a room.
