Extracted from a thread just posted: 4 wines tasted blind at dinner: 2007 Ruinart, 2020 Capitain Gagnerot Corton-Charlemagne, 1986 Leoville Las Cases and 1996 Gros Clos Vougeot Musigni
2007 RUINART BLANC de BLANC- blind; this had a youthful light yellow color and lovely aromas of spicy citrus with lemon most prominent; once tasted, it gave some savory lemon, orange and white peach fruit with some yellow apple coming in late and a subtle underlying accent of honeysuckle, saline and ginger; it featured bright acidity and ideal balance and was soft and smooth on the palate; I loved the wine, but had it all wrong calling it a champagne blend from 2012-2014 although it had some 2006 Taittinger Comtes likeness as I pondered the house, vintage and makeup.
Our pH meter geek tested each wine and this one registered in at 3.0.
Cheers,’
