Which Carlisle are you drinking?

Mike posted the pre-release letter a few days early. As always, makes for some really tough decisions and makes a mockery out of those of us trying to cut back purchases.

Also kudos to Carlisle for continuing to produce new wines! There’s a “Sonoma Valley” zin now based on Old Hill, Pagani and Rossi that sounds incredible.

Bummer, I think I skipped the last release and as a result must have been dropped this time around. Had purchased a little bit the last few times beforehand but people must be clamoring to get the last of his production.

I don’t seem to be able to locate it. Share a link?

Thanks.

Ah, thank you.

I didn’t get a Save the Date or anything. I just signed in and clicked on the release letter link. I doubt you were dropped. Just check back midday on the 15th and I bet there’s an allocation sitting there for you.

Psyched to see the Sonoma County Syrah back this year. That’s always been one of the best QPRs in a lineup full of them, and probably was my Carlisle epiphany wine when I was just initially just dabbling back in 2011 and 2012 vintages. (The 2016 Carlisle Vin Zin then turned me into a fanatic.)

Weird, don’t see it when I log in. (No link to see prior release letters either.) Anyone who has it, mind posting?

Same for me, looking all over the site and only see the July 2025 release letter

Well, it was up for me and now it’s gone. I swear it was there before.

From what I gather the big time buyers have a few days head start on the ordinary buyers who will get the offer on the 15th. Myself included. Just be patient.

Yup have never had an issue ordering what I wanted. One of the most customer-centric businesses you will ever see.

Wines on offer were all 2023s and all sound incredibly delicious…

Palisades Petite Sirah
Derivative White
Two Acres
Sonoma County Syrah
Papa’s Block Syrah
Belloni Zin
Saitone Zin
Pagani Zin
Sonoma Valley Zin (OHR, Pagani, Rossi blend)

Not sure what the allocations will be but this will be a 3-4 case order unless the allocations are tiny.

very intrigued by that Sonoma Valley zin

No news letter either in my account or an email. Been going heavy on these and will probably do so again

Do you have a comparison for the Saitone and/or general thoughts? I’ve never had this bottling

It’s one of the vineyards around the Piner-Olivet intersection, so closest analogues are Carlisle, Papera, Mancini.

Odd too that the release is on a Thursday, usually its always been on a Tuesday.

Mike works so much magic from this vicinity, how could it not be great?

That said, I find Papera to be very different in profile than Carlisle and especially Mancini. It’s always baffled me as to why.

Yes, I will max buy the Saitone. I believe Williams Selyem owns the vineyard now and their zin bottling is much more expensive than Mike’s.
