1989 HB or 1959 Lafite
90 margaux for me
My turn
Yquem 1945 ( it is Bordeaux )
Haut Brion 1989 and 1953
Lafite 1959
Pichon Comtesse 1982 ( magnum )
Petrus 1950
Latour 1959 and 1982
In my experience, the only 1986 that might improve with further cellaring is Mouton.
Since my answer earlier in the thread, we opened a bottle of 1961 Palmer. It’s a wine I have had a couple of times, but this bottle was the greatest Bordeaux I have ever had.
I have no more 1970s that I bought at or near release, but I have purchased a number at auctions in recent years. They have been hit or miss, with many showing signs of major decline despite the bottle condition looking fine. Cork failure rate has been high with not all being obviously due to provenance issues.
1959 Latour, 1959 Lafite and 1928 Lafite
I don’t have near the experience that some here have, but my list:
1982 VCC
1990 Lafite
1996 Margaux
2016 Mouton
2020 Montrose
Time will tell, but that 2016 Mouton may be the best of these for me.
1947 Cheval (magnum)
1982 Pichon Comtesse
One thing I love about this post is that it illustrates even an incredibly experienced connoisseur can continue to have exciting, top shelf experiences in this wonderful hobby, and even in the area where he is most familiar.
I don’t plan to give up chasing the dragon anytime soon!
86 Gruaud Larose can stand toe-to-toe with some of the 82s.
1989 Petrus, 2009 Ausone, 1999 Palmer.
To add a few more votes…
1959 Haut Brion
1959 Latour
1959 Ausone
1961 Palmer
1961 Haut Brion
1961 Gruaud Larose
1982 La Mission Haut Brion
1989 Petrus
1989 La Mission Haut Brion
1990 Cheval Blanc
2003 Latour

I like warm vintages!
