What's in your Glass this weekend?

2007 Germano Angelo Barolo “Vigna Rue” (yum - mine)
2007 Andrea Bosco Barolo “La Serra” (also mine)
2010 Bondonio Vino Rosso (Grignolino, yes… it’s mine)

Tonight:
2007 Florian Beck-Hartweg Pinto Gris GC “Frankstein” (mine, and one of my favs!)
1999 Ch. Malescot St Exupery Margaux (enjoying this a I type)

btw - “mine” means I import it just to be clear…

Mmmmmmm…Grignolino!

gave a couple of people a taste yesterday and they were blown away… it’s such a fun grape! white pepper, stawberries… great picnic, bbq wine, though I tire of the “oh, it’s like gamay” comments I invariable get. why there’s not more love for this grape is beyond me.

melville vernas syrah 09’, turnbull cab. dutton pinot…novy syrah… bbq wine and sparkling, its really hot here…

“why there’s not more love for this grape is beyond me.”

POS from our Grignolino section:

Legendary Napa Cabernet Producer Joe Heitz had a VERY interesting answer to “What’s your favorite wine?”: “Grignolino!” Find out why TONIGHT! BIG flavor but dances on your palate like Ali. Our notes from VinItaly: “Yeah Baybeeeee! Fresh, fresh, fresh and so drinkable. Perfect color (it’s either a light red or a dark Rosato) and nice packaging, this will KILL with Asian / Mexican food…grab it!”. Serve chilled with spicy foods or fish dishes on warmer days, at cool room temp with pork, chicken or lighter meats on cooler days.

Hmm… lotta stuff…
2006 Seven Stones - AWESOME
2006 EMH Black Cat
2004 Aubert
Camille Saves Champagne
Some other and forgettable and astonishingly bad crap

… more to come. W00t!

Nice! So this last year they held “Grignolino Prima” to rival the much heralded “Nebbiolo Prima”… 9 wines tasted, my boy placed second by at least one blogger’s account. I like to kid him that my customers are clamoring for a large format bottle… 3L Grigno-effen-lino anyone?? [snort.gif]

Grazie Mille

Prolly need to throw in a Chablis too.

When are you coming to visit so I can smack you?

'95 Seavey is rockin, if it’s been cellared properly [cheers.gif]
