Whatever happened to? (German Riesling missing persons edition)

Love Karthauserhof, but never see them in WA.

Had some time at home to search my notes database. For producers I bought/were intrigued by/witnessed general buzz but haven’t seen on a shelf in a dog’s age. Some of course mentioned previously. And I probably don’t scour as many shelves as I used to.

Again, a good many of the above may be in decent distribution today and I am just unawares. I used to love Fitz-Ritter Gewürztraminer (Alice was also super nice), Pfeffingen Scheurebe, Christmann Idig Riesling, and so on. The “golden age” of the 2001 and 2002 vintages on NYC retail shelves. The cart overflowed with good wine. Maybe in 20 years they will say the same thing about Falkenstein, Weiser-Kunstler, Lauer, and so on. Who the hell knows.

Heymann Lowenstein has been a nice deal. I like Roth Lay quite a bit, followed by Rottgen and Blaufusser Lay. Laubach was quite the imposing drink and less my style but quality nonetheless.
