@David_Bu3ker ‘s choice is spot on. This wine is “on” right now and so fresh, fun, and deep. Give it a bit of a chill (30-45min) and it will be great to have sipping and steakin’.

Also from recent orders with the same approach (30-45min chill)- Indie Bookstore drinks like Metras made Zin :wink: Evangelho Carignane, Brosseau Grenache- same approach. Carignane will have the most body, followed by Grenache, and Indie.

I probably can’t top @David_Bu3ker ‘s excellent suggestion of Marvelous Mourvèdre but as runner up alternatives might I offer 2022 Agradezco or 2020 Innervisions Red (which as it turns out I have had with Wagyu steak and it went perfectly).

• 2023 Bedrock Sémillon

There was always going to be an Extradimensional wine over 4th of July weekend. Loved this, and I seldom love new world Sémillon. Very crushable, great on its own or with food, more reticent than most of XWCY! wines but with its own discreet charms. A winner.

From CT review:
Lovely example of sémillon. Peach, apple, a waxy texture, a slightly bitter streak to the finish. I’ve had a difficult relationship with new world sémillon, finding some of them flabby. This wine avoids these pitfalls, managing to achieve a nice, med body balance. Needs a light chill; too warm and the bitter streak at the back becomes too prominent.

I was a modest fan of the previous Indie Bookstore series; this 3rd version has stepped it up quite a bit!

  • 2024 Extradimensional Wine Co. Yeah! Zinfandel Indie Bookstore Light Red III - USA, California, Sonoma County, Dry Creek Valley (7/7/2026)
    The majority of EDWCY reds are exuberant, extroverted wines. This is the rarer bird - introverted and introspective. It's a great wine for a family gathering, it glows with that low-fi, red-fruited, food friendly warmth that enhances food and conversation without ever attempting to command attention.

    But it would be a mistake to think that's all it is. Take a glass into a dark room and sip slowly, and the interior qualities start to express themselves - chalk, wet stone, and cherry pits all contributing an intense mouth-watering savoriness, insisting that you roll the wine around the mouth even though there's nothing texturally fancy about it, but doing so brings out inner mouth aromatics of orange peel and lilacs, harmonizing with the red berry fruit. (93 points)

Another 2024 UFO

Like many Hardy Wallace wines, this one surprises in unpredictable ways. Two hours in the decanter and each sip brings out something different.
Some impressions - underripe peach, lemon oil, chalk, lime zest.

His is a rare genius.

Truly appreciate the kind words. The Sem, Indie, and UFO, are three special ones.

That UFO, though… I’ll never forget tasting that in Sonoma with Vince. It drinks like an Escher drawing.

We just put up some packs for VinDependence Days. One to note, this will be the last time we can offer a full Mariana’s Vertical of reds. The 21’s are down to less than 1 case :(… That 21 Merlot right now!!!

Lots of other goodies, too.
