What YEAH! wine are you drinking?

Looking forward to this new release! What’s the story with that 2024 Golden Eternity Chardonnay? Is that also a part of this release?

Also this might be a super random ask, but how would you compare and contrast the UFO, Garden Gnome and this new Chenin Blanc? Im curious where you think it lands among those other whites!

Not Yeah, but yeah! 2016 D&R Alder Springs Merlot. Last had this w the ATL crew a little over three years ago, and it was showing really well then, among the highlights across a dozen Yeah/D&R bottles. It has leveled up a notch since then.

From CT: " 94 Points - Proof that this wine ages admirably. Best bottle yet of this at 10 years in. Elegant Bordeaux-leaning depth, silky smooth, abundant deep dark plum and cherry fruit, a savory herbal top note, velvety finish with a slightly tart black cherry acidity. Really fantastic."

Pulled this one for a small Easter dinner and it absolutely delivered!

2022 Extradimensional Agradezco
A blend of 40% Old Vine Mourvèdre, 20% Zinfandel, 15% Pinot Noir, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Primitivo Rosé, 7% Carignane, 2% Merlot. The most striking thing about this wine was how plush and enjoyable the fruit was, but without sacrificing any of that Extradimensional energy and acidity. Super vibrant ripe cherry fruit, with just a hint of zinfandel bramble and pine sap. I really really enjoyed this one and it made only one round around the table before the bottle dried up! The true definition of a crowd pleaser for the non-wino family but something enthusiasts can easily still geek out over! (95 Pts)

The 2024 Golden Eternity Chard will most likely be in the Fall Release (though it is currently in the tasting room).

The Golden Eternity is named after the Kerouac book of poetry- The Scripture of the Golden Eternity (specifically poem #22) is the best 2 barrels of the 2024 Mariana’s Chardonnay, the best barrel of the 2024 Mariana’s Sunset (Mariana’s Chard w/ 2 months on skins), all given 7 months additional elevage. It has a bit more texture, amazing aromatics, and insane length. It is a heck of a wine.

24 Garden Gnome = Mineral, petrified citrus
24 UFO= Vinous tesseract
24 Chenin= Kumquat, limestone, infinity

The UFO is the most exotic and probably the leanest, the Gnome (from here on out dubbed - the “Sexy Gnome”) is so stony and bright- 12% and still “grand”, and the Chenin feels incredibly regal / noble and so so so Brosseau. There is a bit more oomph in the 2024 Chenin vs the 2023 and the acid is also higher to balance it out. People are going to dig it.

@bradkaplan Thank you! This one continues to over-deliver. We popped one in Oct / Nov and were really really happy w/ it.

Grateful you popped this with family. It is one of my favorite wines to just pull and pour with zero explanation- When people ask “What’s in it?” You can just say “gratitude.”

Backstory- Named for one of my fav songs “Agradezco” by Misk’i Takiy
"So I take some time to send love to the Sun, so it shines back down on everyone
And I take some time to send love to the Earth, giving thanks for my birth
And I take some time to send love to the Sky,
To be caught in the clouds, as they’re passing by
And blown on the four winds to the four corners of the Earth,
To fall as rain, and bless, bless this world
Agradezco, agradezco, agradezco, agradezco"

And in that thought- Kate and I want to extend heartfelt thanks for everyone sharing their love of these wines with family, friends, and on this board. It is seen, felt, and appreciated.

Macerated raspberries-cranberries meet up with stony minerality and great acidity. It’s a red fruited joy ride and is begging for some nice food to pair with it. 2022 Mind Left Body will leave you smiling and happy.

• 2021 Mystery Train.

Well, first I had lined up a venerable Luis Pato Bairrada VV Branco. Really looking forward to it. Oxidized. Even Osiris would balk at this one. So what to do when bummed out? A new EWCY! adventure of course. And it was an adventure, as the photo will show.

Ok, so a careful cheesecloth decant. Under the circumstances this didn’t get the air time it should have had. Nevertheless it was great, full of blackberry, bramble, a sort of sour lemon grassy herbal note, fairly big tannins matched with solid acidity. A big wine by EWCY! standards, making this one I am definitely laying down for several years. Lovely now but teasing so much more….

Dinner with Friends to celebrate their new house! I asked what kind of wine they would like to drink and gave them a few options for a little comparative tasting and they said Mourvèdre so here we are!

The notes will be short and to the point since we were not sitting there dissecting the wines but in general, the Extradimensional and the Sandlands were showing a lot of similarity (probably due to location) and the Carlisle was on the polar opposite end of the spectrum! All were excellent though

2024 Extradimensional Evangelho Mourvèdre (94 Pts)
Lifted, rasperry fruit, purple florals. This barely eeked out the win for WOTN over the Sandlands!

2023 Sandlands Mataro Contra Costa County (94 Pts)
Vibrant, ripe red fruited and slightly more juicy than the Extradimensional

2018 Carlisle Radiant Ridge Mourvèdre (93 Pts)
Darker, more concentrated and plush than the other wines, and showing some pepper and olive notes. If blind I think I would have called this Syrah. Still excellent and an awesome way to compare some California terroir influence!

Saturday game night and charcuterie with friends. I keep opening these Yeah! wines because they’re just so good in every situation, it’s hard to keep my hands off.

2016 Lopez de Heredia Vina Gravonia
Revisiting a classic that I love so much. This was showing that classic Lopez blanco waxy nuttiness. Like a burning citrus wax candle, almond and lemon. Such a singular and amazing wine that always delivers! (95 Pts)

2023 Extradimensional Heart and Humminbird
When i visited the Yeah! tasting room a few months back, Hardy poured this for us and my pregnant wife was only able to smell this one but she loved it. As we were looking for wines to pull for friends she asked for this! Good timing too because the new version of this wine is about to get released. I opened my other bottle of this about 4 months ago and it has developed tremendously since then. This is vibrant showing watermelon hard candy and orchard fruit. This is just so full of energy and such a fun wine. A great pairing for a variety of charcuterie bites and a wine i wish i had a case of! (95 Pts)

2022 Extradimensional Mariana’s Vineyard M-CF
Low yields in 2022 meant that there was only enough fruit for Hardy to bottle this single Mariana’s blend, but what a wine! I think this has developed nicely since I last tried it in the tasting room. Beautiful dark red fruit with a lovely green streak. The fruit profile is plush but with an absolute laser beam of acidity through the mid palate. I have noticed that all of Hardy’s 2022’s remain fresh and vibrant even though it was a hot growing season. A beautiful bottle! (96 Pts)

I think that 2022 Mariana’s is the best wine Hardy has ever made, and it’s world class level.

Ive been super impressed with all the Mariana’s wines. His 2023 Merlot had probably been my favorite

Good AM -

Check your inboxes. The Spring release just went out.

Kate, Jenn, and I will be around today to answer questions or help with any issues. Best way to reach us will be yeah@winecoyeah.com (we all see that box).

I personally may be a little slower to respond as I am dealing with insurance stuff due to the weekend storms. (Everyone is safe- deck demolished, some roof damage, and hopefully nothing structural).

In for 2 Chenin and 2 Hummingbird!

It’s certainly one of them, but the 23 Mariana’s CF and Merlot are contenders for that title as well. Have you tried them yet? I feel like I’ve asked before but don’t remember the answer.

I’ve had the ‘23 Cab Franc, and it’s outstanding, but a very different wine from the ‘22 Merlot-Cab Franc blend. I think the ‘22 leans towards Cheval Blanc (yep, I said it), while the ‘23 Cab Franc leans more Clos Rougeard.

I haven’t had the ‘23 Merlot yet.

Agreed on the 23 CF being Rougeard adjacent, and my comparison for '22 M-CF was Lafleur (which IIRC Hardy said was his inspiration). He also said the '23 Merlot took inspiration from VCC.

I’m planning to do a tasting of all of these at some point in the future… trying to decide if they should be done side-by-side, or a Judgement of Paris style line up. I don’t have any doubts that I’d be able to pick out the EWCY wines blind, but it’d be a nice experiment.

Just so long as there’s plenty of time to enjoy the wines as they change in the glass/decanter.

Let me know if this goes down, I’d love to participate or at least provide some of the wines.
