I always see gift cards as permission to go for something special instead of using them on everyday bottles. Listen to @mchang. Buy something that makes you smile every time you think about it or see it on the rack, then open it for a truly memorable occasion.

I would splurge and buy a bottle in the $500 range. Something outside of my normal price range.

I gave a much more reasonable answer upthread but thinking back to my actual historical behavior with gift cards I would probably buy way more than $card value and think of it as 50% off everything…

Haha i thought about this! If you add what im NORMALLY comfortable spending on a bottle to 500… then all of a sudden I can get a $650 bottle! Lol
