What wines are you serving for your Memorial Day BBQ?

I had a 2015 Fossil and Fawn Pinot Gris, which is a hazy, orangey Oregon wine. Great deal at about $16.
Then a 2013 Cabot Marier Zin. Second time I’ve had this wine and second time it’s disappeared in a flash. Just a delicious, structured wine and a fine buy at $25 or so.

2012 Selbach-Oster Zeltinger Schlossberg Riesling Kabinett
2005 Jean et Gilles LaFouge Auxey-Duresses 1er Cru La Chapelle

2013 Domaine François Cotat (Paul & François) Sancerre Les Monts Damnés
2004 Dönnhoff Schloßböckelheimer Kupfergrube Riesling Spätlese

I would have opened this wine, but they are sold out.

Honor Red North Coast 2010
Honor is a bold and powerful wine. Notes of lavender and fresh cherries dominate the nose with bunches of red and black berries following on the palate. The wine has a long and lingering finish of grilled and cured meats, smoke and cocoa.

When I can get it, one of the Pinots or the Cab, I like to open them on Veteran’s Day and Memorial Day.
